Creation Seeing differently

After studying Pepper N°30, a rather mysterious photograph by Edward Weston made in 1930, the students from 4th grade (aged 13-14) had to carry out a photographic work in teams of two.

Without interfering on the object or the art classroom space, their digital photograph was to change the usual perception of the everyday, only by means of the shooting. The final production was to disturb the spectator’s perception and offer a more artistic 

vision of reality and thus get a photographic work verging on abstraction. (Editing pictures with the help of a computer was forbidden).

The students were actively involved in their own learning. They experimented the practice of the photography shooting technique, thus they were able to explore the plastic properties of digital photography.

The students acquired artistic points of reference in the professional photography world.

Overall, the productions were good. The students grasped the relationships between pictures and real life. They managed to change the  status of a picture (picture coming from reality changed into an artistic picture)
